In the week of Saint Martin, we can officially say that the Chestnuts season is open!
This fat fruit is different from its relatives, since it is less caloric from the nutritional point of view, because it has a lower fat content, although it presents a higher amount of carbohydrates (complexes). On the other hand, its water content is around 50%.
In addition, it has vitamin A, B and E, calcium, phosphorus, iron and folates.
Because of this, it is considered a good source of energy.
So, welcome Autumn… and the Chestnuts!
